Claremont tops VCPAA Annual Youth Golf Tourney

Victoria, BC – Claremont school came out on top in the Victoria Police Athletic Association is hosting its annual youth golf tournament.

It was a banner year for Claremont golfers as Cam Bourque and Josh Miller ranked first and third overall in the individual gross men’s ranks. Elgin Park and St. Georges’ schools came in second and third overall. Keaton Gudz from Spectrum took second in the men’s overall.

VicPD asking for the Public’s Assistance in Locating a Man Wanted on Canada-Wide Parole Revocation Warrant

Victoria, BC – VicPD is asking the public to be on the lookout for a federal offender who is unlawfully at-large.

Authorities are looking to return 68-year-old Francis Patrick Clancy to custody after his parole was suspended. Clancy, who goes by the name “Paddy”, is described as a Caucasian man, five feet, eight inches tall; with a slender build of about 150 lbs. Clancy has thinning, grey hair and wears glasses. Clancy also often wears a short beard.

Suspicious Death Ruled a Homicide

Victoria BC – The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit and VicPD detectives have now been able to confirm that the suspicious death of Shaun Alexander McGregor was indeed a homicide.

McGregor was discovered on Thursday, April 9th shortly after 7:30 p.m. in an apartment in the 1500-block of Begbie Street. The 34-year-old man was pronounced dead on scene.

The building and a large section of the 1500-block of Begbie Street were cordoned off as officers investigated.

Victoria Police Athletic Association Host Annual Youth Golf Tournament

Victoria, BC – The Victoria Police Athletic Association is hosting its annual youth golf tournament this week.

This year the tournament will take place on April 28th and 29th at Olympic View Golf course and will play host to some of the province’s best youth golfers. The tournament is open to high school students throughout British Columbia.

LOCATED| Missing Elderly Man

Victoria, BC – Robert Chappell, the 79-year-old Esquimalt man who was reported missing yesterday, was located by Search and Rescue in Macaulay Point park at approximately 10 am this morning. SAR, with the assistance of Department of National Defence Fire crews were able to extricate the missing man and transport him to waiting BC Ambulance personnel. He will be transported to hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

VicPD Announces Passing of Retired Police Service Dog Arko

Victoria BC – It is with great sadness that VicPD announces the passing of retired Police Service Dog Arko yesterday.

PSD Arko served the communities of Victoria and Esquimalt with his handler Cst. Colin Ash from 2004 until his retirement in 2011. PSD Arko and Cst. Ash were a very successful team and assisted in numerous investigations.

Since his retirement, PSD Arko enjoyed his time with his family, but recently became ill.

$70,000 Worth of Cars Written off After Driving off Embankment at Clover Point

Victoria BC – Over $70,000 worth of cars were written off last night after two individuals drove them off the end of Clover Point.

Officers were called to Clover Point, along Dallas Road, at approximately 1 a.m. after reports from a witness that two new cars had driven off the end of the rocks, crashing approximately 40-feet below.

When emergency services arrived, they found a 2015 Ford Mustang and a 2014 Infinity Q50 with heavy damage. Thankfully the drivers and one passenger were relatively unharmed.
