YOU’RE INVITED | Join Sgt. Greg Holmes for ‘Coffee with a Cop’

Victoria BC – Join VicPD’s recruiting Sergeant, Greg Holmes, for an informal ‘coffee with a cop’ chat on Thursday, April 23rd at 6:30 p.m.

Sgt. Holmes will be at the Downtown Greater Victoria Library discussing VicPD recruiting and what we’re looking for in a successful officer. Sgt. Holmes will have a short presentation at 6:30 p.m. and again at 7:30 p.m., and the talk is informal.

$70,000 Worth of Cars Written off After Driving off Embankment at Clover Point

Victoria BC – Over $70,000 worth of cars were written off last night after two individuals drove them off the end of Clover Point.

Officers were called to Clover Point, along Dallas Road, at approximately 1 a.m. after reports from a witness that two new cars had driven off the end of the rocks, crashing approximately 40-feet below.

When emergency services arrived, they found a 2015 Ford Mustang and a 2014 Infinity Q50 with heavy damage. Thankfully the drivers and one passenger were relatively unharmed.

VIIMCU and VicPD Identify Deceased Man and Continue to Search for Clues

Victoria BC – The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit and VicPD have identified the deceased male from Thursday’s suspicious death as Shaun Alexander McGregor.

Officers were called to the 1500-block of Begbie Street at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Thursday night where they discovered McGregor. The 34-year-old Victoria man was pronounced dead on scene.

The building and a large section of the 1500-block of Begbie Street were cordoned off as officers investigated.

VicPD Celebrates National Public Safety Telecommunications Week

VicPD and VIIMCU Investigating Fernwood Suspicious Death

Victoria BC – VIIMCU, the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit, and VicPD Detectives are investigating a suspicious death that was reported last night.

Officers arrived at an apartment building in the 1500-block of Begbie Street at approximately 10 p.m. last night. Inside they discovered the body of a Victoria man. The building, and a section of the 1500-block of Begbie Street remain cordoned off as officers investigate.

VicPD Requesting the Public’s Assistance in Locating Missing 39-Year-Old Man

Victoria BC – VicPD is requesting the public’s assistance in locating Delmer Esau, a 39-year-old Victoria man, who was last seen on March 28th.

Officers have been looking for Mr. Esau since his disappearance and are now looking for the public’s help. Mr. Esau was last seen at 8 a.m. on the morning of the 26th in the 400-block of Swift Street. Mr. Esau requires medications to assist his mental health and officers are concerned for his well-being.

Today Marks the 24th Anniversary of Michael Dunahee’s Disappearance

Victoria BC – Today marks the 24th anniversary of the disappearance of Michael Dunahee.

Michael Dunahee went missing from Blanshard Elementary School on March 24th, 1991.  Michael was last seen around 12:30 p.m. in the area of the school playground. He was 4-years-old at the time.

Michael’s disappearance spawned one of the largest police investigations in Canadian history, and today the case remains an active investigation.
