Civilian Employment
There are approximately 100 civilian
members employed at the Victoria Police Department, made up of
unionized workers under CUPE Local 50, contract employees and
exempt staff.
Employees enjoy the benefit of working in a progressive,

civilian staff are not involved in policing the community, they
contribute to all facets of the department. Positions such as
Volunteer Coordinator, Operational Planning Coordinator, Crime
Analyst and Block Watch Coordinator are a few of the positions that
offer an example of the experience and talent within our civilian
component. There are various positions in our Records and
Communications Sections which are ever busy and always changing.
These are the front-line civilians that keep the organization
running smoothly and work hand-in-hand with the police
members.
If you are interested in applying on advertised postings for a
civilian position within the Victoria Police department,
qualifications include high school diploma, a typing speed of 60
wpm, ability to pass security clearance, polygraph examination,
lifestyle/integrity evaluation and confidentiality agreement.
