Listen: We’ve Heard You – Find out what We’ve Heard through our Community Survey & Conversations with Chief Elsner
Victoria BC – Join VicPD on Tuesday, September 30th, for a report back to our communities and find out what we’ve heard through our Community Survey and Conversations with Chief Elsner.
Chief Elsner and VicPD Senior Command staff will be presenting the results of the Community Survey and the Conversations with Chief Elsner to the Victoria & Esquimalt Police Board and both Victoria and Esquimalt Council members.
The public presentation, which starts at 5 p.m. at the CRD Building at 625 Fisgard Street, will be an in-depth look at the results of the Community Survey, which cover five broad topics including perception of VicPD, perception of safety, experience with crime, improving the VicPD experience and demographics of the survey.
We will also be reporting back on the tabulated results of this year’s Conversations with Chief Elsner. Three separate conversations were held this year in Esquimalt, Burnside Gorge and Fairfield. The results of those conversations will be shared as well.
Important aspects of these two opportunities for feedback have already been analyzed and acted upon. As early as one month after the Conversation with Chief Elsner in Fairfield, VicPD Traffic officers were conducting the “Fairfield Gonzales Crosswalk Campaign” with an aim to improve safety for pedestrians along Fairfield Road.
Results are also being used as a basis for VicPD’s new Strategic Plan which is being created using this important data.
“I would like to invite everyone to this event,” said VicPD Chief Constable Frank Elsner. “We are excited to share what we have learned from our community engagement efforts and our next priority will be to incorporate this input into our new VicPD strategic planning process.”
If you are unable to attend this event, the presentation in its entirety will be posted and shared in the following days.
Keep track of VicPD on Facebook and Twitter to join in the conversation about these results in the following weeks. There will be more opportunity for feedback and conversations about the results and what you think they mean for Victoria and Esquimalt.
