Victoria, BC- Patrol Officers are asking for your assistance as we work to identify a man sought as a suspect in a random assault of an employee at a downtown retail outlet.
Officers were called to a retail store in the 700-block of Yates Street on Friday, July 27th for a report of an assault. When officers arrived they discovered one of the staff members suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. The staff member reported that just after 9:30 p.m. a man had entered the store and immediately moved to a staff-only area. When the staff member approached him, the man became agitated and then assaulted the employee. The man then fled. The employee received non-life-threatening injuries in the attack.
The suspect is described as Caucasian male between 20-25 years of age, standing 5 feet, 11 inches tall with a medium build. The man has “mop-like” brown hair with curly bangs, and brown eyes. The man was wearing a dark blue button up shirt with white flowers on it with the sleeves rolled to the forearms, and blue jeans. A photo of the suspect is below.
