Victoria, BC –As with previous events, we will be deploying temporary cameras in support of our operations to ensure public safety during this year’s Good Life Marathon, on Sunday, October 13, 2019.

As always, we are deploying these temporarily placed, monitored cameras in public spaces in accordance with B.C. and national privacy legislation. The cameras are going up in the next two days and will be taken down a short time after the event. Temporary signs will also be posted to ensure that those in the area are aware.

If you have questions or concerns about our temporary CCTV camera deployment, or unattended bags, please email [email protected]

We are also reminding participants and members of the public not to leave bags unattended along the marathon route or in the starting or finishing areas. During past marathons many bags, including backpacks, duffle and athletic bags have been left in the starting and finishing area and along the route. These unattended bags end up requiring the use of significant resources to manage safely. Please, do not leave bags unattended on Sunday.

There will also be significant road closures in the area of the Inner Harbour (see map below) and along the marathon route. For a full list of road closures, visithttps://www.runvictoriamarathon.com/course-info/. Follow @VicPDCanada on Twitter for live updates of road closures on October 13th.
