Victoria, BC – 34-year-old male, Cristian Ganzo-Murpy, has been charged with one count of Aggravated Assault, one count of Assault with a Weapon and one count of Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, after allegedly using his vehicle to intentionally strike and pin another male against a tree on December 1.
Just before 2:00 a.m. on December 1, VicPD received a call about a male who was reported to be screaming for help in the 600-block of Hillside Avenue. Officers arrived and administered emergency medical aid to the victim, who had suffered serious and life-altering injuries to his leg. BC Emergency Health Services paramedics arrived shortly afterward to assist with medical treatment and transport the victim to hospital.
The suspect’s vehicle was found abandoned, but resting up against a tree, after the suspect fled the area following the assault. Ganzo-Murpy called VicPD to turn himself in. He was then located by officers and taken into custody.
Ganzo-Murpy remains in custody pending a future bail hearing. Further details are not available as the investigation is ongoing and before the courts.
