Victoria, BC – A man is in custody after Patrol officers across Greater Victoria responded to a call about threats made against COVID-19 testing facilities early this morning.
VicPD Patrol officers attended various public health facilities across Victoria after receiving reports that a man made threats against COVID-19 testing facilities after calling the 811 information line. Out of an abundance of caution, officers from departments across Greater Victoria attended and spoke with staff at various public health facilities to ensure they were safe.
In Victoria, Patrol officers spoke with onsite staff, providing guidance and support. Officers continued to attend and check-in at the various facilities to ensure that staff and patients were safe.
Officers from across the region, including VicPD and Saanich Police Department officers worked to take the man into custody safely. He was arrested by Saanich Police Department officers just after noon today.
There were no injuries and no additional incidents.
