Victoria, BC – VicPD officers will be onsite assisting with road closures and greeting the public to ensure that Sunday’s Splash Around Town (formerly known as the Symphony Splash) is a safe, fun and family-friendly event for everyone.

Officers and volunteer Reserve Constables will be greeting the public on Sunday. Limited road closures begin at Belleville and Menzies streets at noon and continue with additional closures in the Inner Harbour impacting Government street starting at 2 p.m., continuing until the event’s conclusion in the evening. You are encouraged to head downtown early as the event programming like the Family Zone start at 1 p.m.

As with previous events, we will be deploying our temporary, monitored CCTV cameras in support of our operations to ensure public safety during this year’s event. The deployment of these cameras is part of our operations to help keep this event fun, safe and family-friendly and is in keeping with both provincial and federal privacy laws. Temporary signs are up in the area to ensure that the public is aware. If you’ve concerns about our temporary camera deployment, please email [email protected].

Remember that drones are not permitted in the downtown core. The Inner Harbour is an active flight zone for float planes and helicopters. Drones are strictly prohibited under Transport Canada rules.
