Victoria, BC – VicPD Major Crime Unit (MCU) Detectives have confirmed that a June 16 fire which destroyed a restaurant is arson and are asking anyone with dashcam footage from the area to come forward.
Officers and the Victoria Fire Department were called to the restaurant at the intersection of Douglas Street and Burnside Road just after 3 a.m. on Friday, June 16 for a report of a large fire. The damage to the building is extensive. There were no known injuries. Investigators have determined the fire to be arson.
Investigators are asking anyone with dashcam footage from the area from between 2:30 a.m. and 3:15 a.m. on Friday, June 16 to save their footage and contact us.
The investigation remains on-going.
