Victoria, BC – Just after 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, officers were called to the intersection of Douglas Street and Belleville Street after a cyclist was knocked off their bike by a vehicle.

Officers determined that the cyclist had been at the intersection of Government and Belleville Street when the driver of a black sport utility vehicle (SUV) spat at them through their open window. The cyclist and driver met again near the intersection of Douglas Street and Belleville Street when the cyclist attempted to confront the driver. They were then struck by the vehicle and knocked off their bike.

B.C. Emergency Health Services attended and assessed the cyclist.

The black SUV is described as a 2010-2014 model, possibly a Nissan or Saturn, with B.C. Parks license plates. The vehicle also had pre-existing damage to the driver’s side door.

Investigators are looking for the vehicle and driver and to speak with any additional witnesses or anyone that may have dashcam footage of these incidents.

If you have information about either of these incidents, please call the E-Comm Report Desk at (250) 995-7654. To report what you know anonymously, please call Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or submit a tip online at Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers.
