Victoria, B.C. – Building on the success of Project Downtown Connect in 2023 and the additional Foot Patrols this summer, VicPD officers are once again spending dedicated time downtown visiting businesses on foot.

Throughout the fall and into winter, officers will be spending dedicated hours walking the downtown core, engaging with businesses to listen to their concerns and provide valuable information, all while continuing to respond to calls for service.

“Our business community is the heart of downtown, and we’re always looking for ways to be more responsive and to help empower them with information. During the busy holiday season especially, we want to ensure they know that we are there for them,” said Chief Del Manak

Officers will be handing out resource information cards to help businesses determine when to call police, and how to get the most out of their report.

In addition to dedicated, visible foot patrols, officers will continue to prioritize addressing retail theft with increased efforts throughout the holiday season.
