Victoria, BC – Officers are continuing their investigation into an alleged drug dealer operating in the area of Ecole Victor Brodeur.

In July, officers in our Patrol Division began their investigation into an Esquimalt man after community complaints about suspected drug dealing. Officers completed a very detailed investigation and on August 26th, with the start of school less than a week away,  officers applied for and were granted a search warrant for the man’s residence in the 600-block of Head Street.

On August 27th, officers with our Strike Force Unit and the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team assisted with the arrest of the man, and the subsequent search of the residence.  The man was arrested, without incident, shortly after 5:00 p.m. in the 100-block of Wilson Street. The man was found to have a hand gun, ammunition, several knives, and other evidence on his possession.  Officers then conducted the search warrant at the residence where a woman was arrested. The search of the residence revealed various amounts of suspected drugs, cash, a loaded shotgun, several replica firearms, and various other weapons including a taser and a crossbow.

Drugs, Firearms and other weapons seized

10 charges are being recommended to Crown Counsel, and the man is set to appear in court today. Additional charges are likely in the coming weeks as officers process all exhibits which were seized.
