Victoria BC – Investigations are continuing into two serious collisions over the past two weeks.

Officers responded to the 1600-block of Hollywood Crescent at 3:30 a.m. on September 30th for a vehicle that reportedly crashed into a house. As officers arrived, they located a Ford Focus that had crashed through the side of the house which caused the car to protrude into the living area.  The lone driver was transported to hospital where he was released shortly after.   Investigators believe that alcohol was a factor in the collision and the male was released on a Promise to Appear with a future court date.

Two weeks later, at 1:30 a.m. on October 14th, officers attended the 2700-block of Cook Street for the report of a Ford Mustang that had collided with a house. The area of impact was an unoccupied bedroom which is fortunate as if it was occupied, it could have led to serious injuries.  The lone male driver was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The investigation is in the early stages and appears that impairment and speed were factors in the collision.

In total, VicPD officers removed six impaired drivers off our roads over the past weekend.
