Victoria, BC – VicPD officers and volunteers will be working alongside members of the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority team, Transport Canada, and staff from local businesses including Coast Victoria Hotel & Marina, the Delta Hotels by Marriott Victoria Ocean Pointe Resort, Red Fish Blue Fish, Chateau Victoria, Spinnakers’ and V2V Vacations in efforts to clean up the shores of Victoria’s iconic Inner Harbour. The event will see volunteers, staff and VicPD officers cleaning up debris, glass, and garbage left along the Harbour Monday, September 10th morning from 9:00 am – 11:00 am.

Now in its fifth year, the Clean Up The Shores partnership has resulted in the removal of a combined total of hundreds of kilograms of garbage. While inspired by similar shoreline cleanups, this initiative is a made-in-Victoria event that brings together businesses and service organizations to clean up and bring awareness to protecting Victoria’s unique harbour environment.

You can follow along with live updates from both the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority and VicPD on Twitter using the #cleanuptheshores2018 hashtag or GVHA’s Instagram: @vicharbour and Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/gvicharbour.
