Victoria, BC- Officers are further warning the public after a report of a second indecent act involving a male matching the description of a suspect in a similar indecent act that occurred earlier in the week.

In this latest incident, Patrol officers were called to Bridge Way in Beacon Hill Park, in the area of the rock bridge over Goodacre lake, just after 6:30 p.m. last night. When they arrived they spoke with a woman who reported that a male walking his bike had approached her while she was sitting and reading. The male sat next to her and began to ask her questions which she felt were inappropriate. The male then exposed himself.

The woman reported to officers that she then told the male she had to leave. He then walked a short distance away and remained, watching her. She phoned a friend, prompting the male to leave the area. She then phoned the police.

Officers searched the area for the suspect, but did not locate him.

The woman was not physically injured in this incident.

Beacon Hill Park Area where this latest incident occurred

In the earlier incident, Patrol officers were called to the Galloping Goose Regional Trail near Cecelia Road for a report of an indecent act that occurred just before 6 p.m. Wednesday. When officers arrived they spoke with a woman who indicated that she was walking southbound on the trail when she passed a man sitting on a bench. As she approached, she noted the man had his hand in his pants. She reported that as she passed the man, he exposed himself, stood and began to follow her.

A short time later, an unidentified woman on a bicycle approached the first woman and reported the man had done the same thing towards her earlier. The two women continued together away from the area, with the man following them. They entered a nearby business and called police. The woman on the bike departed the scene before officers arrived. The woman who reported being followed was not physically injured in the incident, but was offered support.

At that time, Patrol officers searched the area for the suspect. He was not located.

There are similarities between the suspects in each incident. He is described as a Caucasian male between 40-50 years, standing six feet tall with a slim build and blue eyes. He has long brown hair that was in a ponytail. At the time of the incident in Beacon Hill Park he was wearing a thin black jacket, blue jeans and a Blue Jays baseball cap. He was riding a bike. The suspect in the Galloping Goose Trail incidents was wearing a black t-shirt and grey cargo shorts. He was barefoot.

Officers are working to identify this male. Officers are still looking to speak with the woman on the bike who came to the assistance of the woman involved in the Galloping Goose Regional Trail incident.
