The Police Officer Physical Ability Test or POPAT has long been a key step for those who are thinking about a career as a VicPD officer. As anyone who has run the POPAT can tell you, achieving a competitive time in this six-round, three-stage physical test often requires both good physical fitness and familiarity with the test itself. All too often, even the most athletic candidates find themselves bested by their first POPAT running as they are unfamiliar with the course, techniques, and pacing required to pass.

VicPD recruiting Sgt. Greg Holmes will be hosting a free POPAT information session on Sunday, June 24th at Nixon Gym, located at 1367 Victoria View Road in Esquimalt, from 8:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. This event gives potential applicants an opportunity to meet the recruiter, become familiar with the physical test, chat with a coach, and get exposure to each stage of the POPAT.  You can simply try the equipment or run a full practice test.

You can also learn more about our recruiting process, get some advice and tips and have any questions ready for Sgt. Holmes, who will be on hand to cheer on participants.
