Victoria BC-   Yesterday, two Esquimalt residents were taken into custody without incident after a complex investigation.

On April 28th, officers were called to Saxe Point Park around 8:30 p.m. where they discovered a victim suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. The victim was transported to hospital, treated, and released.

An intensive investigation began which involved 24 officers with a combined total of 790 hours which included our Major Crime unit, Crime Reduction unit, Strike Force unit, Forensic Identification unit, K9 unit, Integrated Tech Crime unit, Community Services Division  and Patrol officers from both Esquimalt and Victoria.

The two arrests were made at approximately 4:00 p.m. yesterday in Esquimalt. One adult man is currently in custody and a youth was released and a summons is being requested.

The arrests come after multiple search warrants were executed. As a result of the investigation, a stolen vehicle was recovered, as well as imitation and real firearms.  Investigators believe this incident, while concerning, to be an isolated one.

The investigation continues and additional search warrants are expected to be executed in the coming days.
