Victoria BC– As previously announced, a full departmental funeral will take place on April 19th, 2018 at Christ Church Cathedral located at 930 Burdett Avenue.
A marching contingent of officers from across Canada and the United States will depart at 12:30 p.m. from the Save on Foods Memorial Arena. The officers will travel east on Caledonia Avenue and then south on Quadra Street. These streets will be closed for the duration of the procession and will be reopened as the procession moves through. Traffic will be affected for approximately 45 minutes.
Anybody who would like to pay respects is asked to line the route along Quadra Street. The marching contingent will then meet the funeral party at Christ Church Cathedral for the service.
Of note, we will be deploying temporary cameras in support of our operations to ensure public safety on April 19th. The deployment of these cameras will help keep all of those who gather to pay respect to Constable Ian Jordan safe.
