Multiple Charges Being Recommended Against Victoria Man After Assaulting Officer

Victoria BC – On Tuesday, April 10th, an officer attended the 1200-block of Douglas Street shortly before 10:00 p.m. for the report of a man doing drugs inside a business. Upon the officer’s arrival, the man quickly became violent and pushed the officer in an attempt to get away. A short foot pursuit occurred and then an altercation occurred in which the officer was assaulted. Multiple officers came to the officer’s aid and took the man into custody.  Officers are recommending charges of assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, failing to comply with probation order and possession of a controlled substance.
