Victoria, BC- Officers are investigating after the report of an assault with a weapon last night.

Officers attended the parkade in the 700-block of Johnson Street shortly after 8:30 p.m. for the report of an assault in progress. Upon arrival, police located a security guard suffering non-life threatening injuries.

According to the victim,  the suspect was smoking something and an altercation occurred.  The victim was assaulted by what he believed to be bear spray and the suspect fled on foot.

BC Ambulance attended and the victim was treated at the scene.

The suspect is still outstanding and is described as a Caucasian man, approximately 60-years old standing five feet, ten inches tall with a slim build, and grey short hair. He was believed to be wearing light blue and grey jacket with jeans.
