Victoria, BC – A man has been arrested and faces multiple charges resulting from an alleged sexual assault that occurred in the 1900-block of Store Street just before 1:30 a.m. this morning.
Officers were first made aware of the incident when a witness flagged down Patrol officers to report it. Officers were able to locate the victim. Given the nature of the report, Patrol officers flooded the area and were able to locate and pull over the suspect’s vehicle a short time later.
Subsequent investigation led to a three-day driving prohibition and a three-day impoundment of the suspect’s vehicle. He was arrested for the criminal allegations.
Officers are currently recommending charges of sexual assault with a weapon, assault with a weapon, robbery, assault and choking to overcome resistance. Our investigation is ongoing at this time, however this does not appear to be a random incident as the suspect and victim are known to each other. The suspect remains in custody.
