Victoria, BC – The motorcycle used in Wednesday’s armed robbery of a jewelry business in the 600-block of Fort Street has been located and seized by investigators.

The motorcycle, which had been stolen, was located today in the 1000-block of Belmont Avenue. Our Major Crime detectives continue to investigate.

Officers were called to the 600-block of Fort Street on Wednesday at around 4:35 p.m. for a report of an armed robbery. Two men had entered a store there, produced weapons and taken merchandise. The men, described as Caucasian males, were both wearing dark clothing and dark “construction style” safety vests with high-viz green stripes on them and masks.

The men departed the store, and fled the scene on the  black “sport model” motorcycle that investigators recovered today. One of the men was wearing a white motorcycle helmet.

Officers flooded the area and searched for suspects as well as the motorcycle. The suspects were last reported seen southbound on Quadra Street near Courtney Street.

Greater Victoria Victims Services personnel were deployed to assist the victims who received non-life-threatening injuries in the incident but did not require treatment in hospital.

No arrests have been made so far.
