Victoria, BC – Today and tomorrow, the Victoria City Police Athletic Association will host its annual high school golf tournament at Olympic View Golf Course.

Open to high school students throughout British Columbia, the purpose of the tournament is to foster positive relationships between the police and the youth of our community, while supporting youth in achieving excellence in sport. The tournament has been running since 1985 and has hosted an average of over 120 youth golfers over the last several years.

The Victoria City Police Athletic Association is a non-profit society that supports events in the community and fosters positive relationships between the police and youth in Greater Victoria and on the South Island. Since its inception, the VCPAA has donated over one million dollars to events in our communities.  VicPD officers volunteer hundreds of hours towards these initiatives throughout the year.

Along with the annual youth golf tournament, the VCPAA sponsors and supports:

  • Boys and Girls Junior High School City Basketball Championships
  • Youth Wilderness Program
  • Scholarships at Esquimalt High School, Victoria High School and Camosun College
  • Sponsor of numerous community athletic teams in all areas of the South Island
