Victoria, BC – A/Chief Constable Del Manak was “taken into custody” today by VicPD’s Cst. Todd Mason and Cst. Cam Stephens as part of the Canadian Cancer Society’s “Jail & Bail” fundraiser.

Chief Manak joins several notable police, fire, community and political leaders from across Greater Victoria in the “hoosegow” a temporary jail set up on Ship Point in Victoria’s Inner Harbour. Each “prisoner” remains “in custody” until his or her “bail” is raised. A/Chief Constable Manak was already at 46% of his bail goal at 11 am this morning.

Two VicPD officers – Cst. Todd Mason and Cst. Cam Stephen are riding in this year’s Tour de Rock. The Tour helps fund pediatric cancer research and helps children and families living with cancer right now through much-needed support programs like Camp Goodtimes.
