Online Investigation Results In Arrest

Victoria BC – VicPD’s Special Victims Unit (SVU) arrested a 61-year old man this afternoon after an investigation that lasted several weeks.

VicPD’s Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Investigator initiated the investigation and became aware that this man intended to sexually abuse a 5 year old child.  This was not a random event, and at no time was the public at risk.

The lone man was arrested when he arrived in Victoria from out of Province.

Charges of Making Agreement or Arrangement to Commit a Sexual Offence Against a Child and Making Child Pornography are being recommended.
