Victoria, BC – Colin Lamontagne, a 40-year-old Nanaimo man, has been charged with Manslaughter in the death of Victoria man Shaun Alexander McGregor.
The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU) and the Nanaimo RCMP took Lamontagne into custody on Friday. A woman who was also arrested at that time has been released without charge.
On April 9th, 2015, VicPD patrol members responded to an apartment in the 1500-block of Begbie Street. Mr. McGregor was discovered and later pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators announced the death was being investigated as homicide on April 29th, 2015. The arrests came exactly one year after that announcement.
