Listen: VicPD Marks British Columbia Law Enforcement Memorial Today

Victoria BC – Today, Sunday, September 28th, 2014, marks the annual British Columbia Law Enforcement Memorial Service which recognizes the sacrifices made by officers as they work within our communities.

This annual event brings together police and peace officers, their families and colleagues from around the province to recognize officers who have died in the line of duty.

VicPD recognizes the sacrifice that five of our officers have made in the line of duty. Those officers are:
· 1859 – Constable Johnston Cochrane
· 1864 – Constable John Curry
· 1921 – Constable Robert Forster
· 1927 – Constable Albert E. Wells
· 1959 – Constable Earle M. Doyle

The provincial event this year is being co-hosted by the Langley RCMP and the Abbotsford Police Department, and takes place in the Rotary Stadium in Exhibition Park in Abbotsford.
