Victoria Police Athletic Association Host Annual Youth Golf Tournament

Victoria, BC – The Victoria City Police Athletic Association is hosting its annual high school golf tournament at Olympic View Golf Course.

Open to high school students throughout British Columbia, the purpose of the tournament is to foster positive relationships between the police and the youth of our community, while supporting youth in achieving excellence in sport. The tournament has been running since 1985 and has hosted an average of over 120 youth golfers over the last several years. The tournament starts today.

Patrol Officer Suffers Non-Life-Threatening Injuries During Arrest

A Patrol officer was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after being hurt in an arrest of an assault suspect yesterday.

Patrol officers were called to the 1200-block of Douglas Street just before 2pm yesterday for a report of a conflict between two men in a business that had turned into a physical altercation. One of the two men left the scene prior to officers’ arrival. Officers spoke with one of the men and began searching the nearby area for the second man who was alleged to be the instigator.
