Victoria BC – VicPD was recognized today  by the Canadian Forces as being a supportive employer of working officers who are currently Canadian Forces Reservists.

The award was presented to Chief Constable Frank Elsner in a ceremony today by Lieutenant Colonel Don Stedeford who represents the Canadian Forces Liaison Council.

Major Brendon LeBlanc of the 5th (BC) Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery, who is also a VicPD constable, submitted VicPD for recognition this past year for the support given to VicPD’s five active reservists.

“This is an important recognition for VicPD and for the 5th (BC) Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery,” said Major LeBlanc. “VicPD recognizes the important contributions that the Canadian Forces Reserves give to our communities and our country.”

“This is an incredible honour,” said VicPD Chief Constable Frank Elsner. “Our officers are dedicated to working with the citizens of Victoria and Esquimalt to foster a great community. The fact that they also volunteer as reservists, representing our organization and our communities across Canada is spectacular.”
