Victoria, BC – Officers are looking to speak with the victim of an alleged assault with a weapon reported to have occurred June 18th.

Witnesses called 911 to report that a man had pepper-sprayed a woman in area of Broad and Johnson streets just before 12:00 noon. A witness followed the man, who was taken into custody by officers at the intersection of Store and Fisgard streets. During the course of the investigation the man taken into custody admitted to pepper-spraying a woman. Despite an exhaustive search in the area, and reaching out to social support agencies, officers have been unable to locate the victim.

The victim is described as a blonde woman, approximately 40 years-old, standing 6 feet tall. She was wearing dark clothing and collecting cigarette butts in the area. Officers would like to speak with her to check her well-being as well as in regards to this file.
