Giving Back to the Community
VicPD has a proud legacy of community members joining with us to give back through service to Victoria and Esquimalt. We’re incredibly proud of our VicPD Volunteers and volunteer Reserve Constables, who selflessly give back many hours of service to Victoria and Esquimalt each year.
There are two main VicPD volunteer teams.
Our VicPD volunteers, help to support our mission to serve the public trust through engagement, prevention and enforcement. Helping to educate community members about crime prevention, our volunteers perform a wide variety of roles in the community and at headquarters. Learn more about becoming a VicPD Volunteer here.
VicPD Reserve constables are a unique opportunity to give back to your community. Reserves are sworn volunteer peace officers, and in addition to performing Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) audits and Lock Out Auto Crime patrols, they augment officers serving on the street by helping screen for impaired drivers at impaired driving check stops and Late Night Great Night patrols in the bars and nightclubs of Victoria’s downtown core.
