Victoria BC – VicPD Traffic officers are looking to identify a driver after a pedestrian was struck in a marked crosswalk on Wednesday, March 4th.

At approximately 10:45 a.m. the victim was walking in a marked crosswalk at Broad Street and Pandora Avenue when he was struck by a driver in a black BMW. The driver of the BMW immediately stopped and, along with witnesses, offered assistance to the victim. The driver offered the victim a ride home and the pair departed the scene.

The victim was dropped off at his residence in the 1100-block of Kings Road.  Staff at the man’s home called an ambulance to ensure his medical needs were tended to. The victim was transported to hospital where his non-life threatening injuries were treated.

Officers were then called to investigate.

The driver, although helpful, did not provide his information to the victim and none of the witnesses could recall the license plate of the vehicle.

The investigators are now looking to identify the driver of the car and speak with him about the collision. The vehicle is described as a newer black BMW 3 series with flat black rims. The driver is described as a Caucasian man, 20-30 years old, 5-foot-11 and approximately 180 to 200 Lbs. He was described as having short hair and had tattooed arms.

If you have any information about this collision, the vehicle or the driver, please call VicPD on the non-emergency line at 250-995-7654, or report it anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
