Victoria BC –VicPD would like to invite you to the official public launch of the VicPD Community Ambassador Program and Summer Action Plan on Wednesday, May 27th on the front lawn of the historic Fairmont Empress Hotel.

The VicPD Community Ambassador program is a new public outreach initiative from VicPD whose aim is to entertain and educate tourists and residents as well as promote Victoria and Esquimalt as a friendly, welcoming places to live, work, and play.

Chief Elsner will be introducing the VicPD Community Ambassadors to the public. Mayor Lisa Helps, Victoria and Esquimalt Police Board Co-Chair Barb Desjardins will be on hand and offering comments.

The VicPD Community Ambassadors are VicPD volunteers, dressed in historically inspired “bobby” style uniforms and armed only with a smile, interesting historical facts and crime prevention information.

The VicPD Community Ambassadors will be at community events in Victoria and Esquimalt, walking the downtown “beat” and interacting with residents and tourists alike throughout our historic downtown.
