Victoria, BC – Patrol officers are asking for your help in locating an elderly couple’s mobility scooter, stolen in a recent break and enter into an underground parking space.

Residents called officers on August 2nd to report the theft from the 1000-block of Southgate Street. The residents called to report that thieves had entered the underground parking structure overnight August 1st , and had made off with a number of items. Among the items taken were Gord and Patricia Riddell’s mobility scooter.

“It’s their main form of transportation,” Ted Davies, the Riddell’s son said. “Without it, it’s very hard for them to get around.” The couple, both 89-years-old, purchased the double wide two-person mobility scooter so they could get around together.

The scooter is described as a distinctive silver Breeze S3 GT two-person mobility scooter. A photo of the scooter is below. The scooter itself is valued at $9,000.

“It would definitely be a big financial burden to replace it,” Davies said. “This scooter helps them get out and be a part of the community.  We really need to get it back.”

If you have information about the theft, or have seen the missing scooter, you are asked to call the VicPD non-Emergency line at (250 ) 995-7654. To report what you know anonymously, please call Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at  1 800-222-8477.
