Victoria, BC – As spring is now officially upon us, it is time to register your bike with us.

On March 1st, we were able to get a bike back to its rightful owner because of the bike registry. A diligent Community Resource Officer located an expensive road bike during his routine patrol. The responding officer checked the bike and determined that the bike was registered with the VicPD Bike Registry.  When the officer contacted that owner of the bike, he was unaware that the bike had been stolen and was a short distance away from where the break-in to the secure parking area occurred.

To date, we have over 1,600 bikes registered.

So far in 2017, there have been 123 stolen bikes reported to VicPD. That is up from 112 in 2016 and down from the 141 stolen during the same time period in 2015.
