Victoria, BC – Omar Manji, a 23-year-old Victoria man, is facing two charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.  On January 25th, over 300 exhibits were seized including over 42 kilograms of marijuana, $5,600 in cash, bear spray, and a replica firearm.

The investigation into the unlicensed marijuana storefront continues and investigators have confirmed through Health Canada that the marijuana storefront was not licensed to sell marijuana.

The City of Victoria and VicPD continue to work together to ensure that the health and safety of everyone in our communities are protected.  Trafficking of marijuana is illegal under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and could result in enforcement action being taken.  VicPD will continue to be responsive to the public interest by prioritizing any enforcement action based on factors such as evidence of sales to or consumption by youth, violence, serious disruption to the community and any evidence of organized crime activity.
