Victoria  BC – One man is in custody after a lengthy search after shots were reported fired.

Officers were called just after 2:20 a.m. yesterday morning after a woman reported that somebody shot at her vehicle in the area of Ryan and Shelbourne Streets. Officers quickly converged on the area and located a vehicle that had damage consistent with a gunshot.  

Police located a residence believed to be associated to the suspect in the 1700-block of Kings Road.  

Officers including members from the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team, the Forensic Identification section, Major Crime Detectives and K9 members were on scene for the majority of the day looking for evidence and executing a search warrant at the residence.

Late yesterday afternoon, police located the man in James Bay and arrested him without incident.

The man remains in custody and police are recommending several charges including Attempt Murder, Possession of Prohibited Weapon, Unlawfully Discharge a Firearm into or at a place, as well as numerous firearms offences.  Major Crime Detectives continue to investigate
