Victoria, BC – VicPD officers and staff are joining our policing partners from Oak Bay, Saanich, Central Saanich and the RCMP alongside Greater Victoria area businesses for this year’s Special Olympics Polar Plunge.

The Polar Plunge is a Special Olympics fundraising event that will help send athletes with intellectual disabilities to Special Olympics events. Police officers, business leaders and members of community organizations will brave the frigid waters of the Pacific Ocean on Sunday, March 11th.

VicPD’s Chief Del Manak issued the following video challenge to local businesses to either sponsor VicPD officers, or join the event by creating their own team.

Chief Manak will be taking the plunge in uniform on Sunday, March 11th at Willows Beach. Registration starts at 10 a.m., while the Polar Plunge itself takes place at 11 a.m.
