Victoria, BC – Two Patrol officers are recovering after receiving non-life-threatening injuries in an arrest on Sunday, May 20th, 2018.

Officers were called to a multi-unit residential building in the 700-block of Pandora Avenue just after 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 20th for a report that a man had attempted to kick in the door of one person’s suite and had then entered another person’s suite in the same building. The man was taken to the ground after running at officers on scene, after which he continued to fight with officers. During the course of the arrest the female occupant of the suite attempted to keep officers from taking the man into custody. She was also arrested. Small amounts of drugs, including heroin and methamphetamine, were recovered.

Two Patrol officers received non-life-threatening injuries during the course of these arrests. Both were transported to hospital for treatment.

Officers are recommending charges including obstruction of police officers, uttering threats and drug possession. The woman was released on a promise to appear. The man was held for court.
