Victoria, BC –  In our 2017 Community Survey, we heard from you that “our best defence against crime is [a] strong community and communication.”  In an effort to build on our strong community and further open lines of communication throughout 2018, our Patrol Division’s Watch Commanders are hosting members of the public for an open house. The first of these events happened at our VicPD Headquarters in Victoria and the second was hosted in Esquimalt. The Watch Commander’s Open House returns to Victoria on Thursday, September 27th, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30pm, in our Hall of Honour at our 850 Caledonia Avenue headquarters.

The Watch Commander is the Staff Sergeant who oversees a Patrol Watch and is the person who is most immediately responsible to keep Victoria and Esquimalt safe.

Our Watch Commander’s Open House is an informal, friendly, drop-in style event. Drop by and grab a coffee and chat with our Watch Commander and other front-line staff about current issues, or to find out how a Patrol shift responds to your calls, or learn what you should know when calling either 911 or our non-emergency line. This Watch Commander’s Open House is hosted in our publicly accessible Hall of Honour (just off our lobby), so no ID is required.

Where: VicPD Hall of Honour – 850 Caledonia Avenue, Victoria B.C.

When: Thursday, September 27th 2018 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  Feel free to drop in at any time during this 90-minute session. There is no check in or RSVP required for the event. Just come and chat!
