Victoria, BC – VicPD Officers and staff are joining our Oak Bay, Saanich Police Department, Central Saanich Police Service and RCMP policing partners alongside Greater Victoria area businesses for the 2nd annual Special Olympics Polar Plunge.

The Polar Plunge is a Special Olympics fundraising event that will help send athletes with intellectual disabilities to Special Olympics events. Police officers, business leaders and members of community organizations will brave the frigid waters of the Pacific Northwest Ocean on Sunday, February 17th.

Chief Manak along with other VicPD Officers and Support Staff will be taking the plunge in uniform on at Willows Beach. Registration starts at 10 a.m., while the Polar Plunge itself takes place at 11 a.m.

We’re encouraging all businesses, neighboring police departments and other First Responders in Greater Victoria to create a team and raise money for Special Olympics.
