Victoria, BC – VicPD officers and volunteers will be working alongside members of the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority and staff from local businesses including Coast Victoria Hotel & Marina, Steamworks, Chateau Victoria, Red Fish Blue Fish, the Delta Hotels by Marriott Victoria Ocean Pointe Resort, West Bay Marina, Spinnakers, Harbour Air and Waste Connections in efforts to clean up the shores of Victoria’s iconic Inner Harbour. The event will see volunteers, staff and VicPD officers cleaning up debris, glass, and garbage left along the harbour on Friday, September 13th from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The official weigh-in will happen at Fisherman’s Wharf at 11 a.m.

Now in its sixth year, the Clean Up The Shores partnership has resulted in the removal of a combined total of hundreds of kilograms of garbage. While inspired by similar shoreline cleanups, this initiative is a made-in-Victoria event that brings together businesses and service organizations to clean up and bring awareness to protecting Victoria’s unique harbour environment.
