Victoria, BC – Strike Force officers seized stolen property and a taser after an investigation into a property offender yesterday.
On Wednesday, April 15th, Strike Force officers investigated a man suspected to be in possession of stolen property. Strike Force officers executed a search warrant on a residence associated to the man in the 3100-block of Somerset Street.
The officers recovered stolen property and a taser in the search of the residence. The recovered property included a variety of jewelry and clothing with the tags still intact. The taser was equipped with cartridges and capable of being discharged. Two photographs of the recovered property are below.
Strike Force’s seizure of this stolen property comes one day after a separate operation, in which Strike Force officers seized approximately $30,000 in stolen property from a storage locker associated to a property offender. Both of these files remain under investigation.
Strike Force will continue to target property offenders in an effort to fight a rising trend of property crime in Victoria and Esquimalt. Since the week of March 15-21st, VicPD has seen a 25% increase in property crime related calls for service. Overall, VicPD’s calls for service have increased by 22% in that time period.
