Victoria, BC – Patrol officers are thanking the public after they arrested a man yesterday in connection to a random attack on a BC Transit bus last month.

Shortly after 4 p.m. on June 19th, 2020, Patrol officers were flagged down by two men in the 1100-block of Johnson Street. One of the men told officers he had just been randomly struck by a man he did not know while on a BC Transit bus. Officers reviewed video of the incident and observed the assault, and the helpful actions of bystanders who immediately intervened in the attack and pushed the suspect off the bus. The victim’s injuries were non-life-threatening and he did not require medical attention.

Officers asked for public assistance in identifying the suspect and received information which led to the arrest.
