Victoria, BC – Patrol officers are asking for information, including video and witnesses, after a man approached an 11-year-old boy walking home from school yesterday afternoon.

On the evening of October 13th Patrol officers received a report that a man had approached an 11-year-old boy who was walking home from school earlier that afternoon. The man, who was driving a vehicle, pulled up beside the boy and told him to get in the vehicle and accept a ride home. When the boy turned around and began walking in the opposite direction, the man in the vehicle made a u-turn, followed the boy, and again told the boy to get inside the vehicle and accept a ride home. The boy made it safely back to the school and reported the incident to his family. The boy was not physically injured.

The incident occurred in the 600-block of Head Street, near the intersection of Head Street and Esquimalt Road at approximately 2:45 p.m.

The unknown man is described as Caucasian, approximately 50 years-old, with a bald head and a full grey beard. The man was driving a white, four-door vehicle, which is described as being relatively new and very clean. There may have been a small dog in the back seat of the vehicle.
