Victoria, BC – Esquimalt Division officers are investigating after an Esquimalt resident surprised a prowler who appeared to be in the process of breaking and entering into their residence early this morning.

Just after 1 a.m., Patrol officers were called to the 1200-block of Colville Road for a report of a prowler. The resident reported that they noted that an air conditioner was moved out of their window and a flashlight shone into their residence as they walked into a room. The suspect fled the scene and officers flooded the area.

VicPD K9 responded and tracked a potential suspect through the neighbourhood in the direction of Lockley Street. During this track officers discovered that numerous sheds and backyards in the area had been accessed. The suspect was not located.
