Victoria, BC – VicPD has just published our Community Safety Report Card for Q4.

VicPD’s Community Safety Report Cards are an essential component of the Victoria/Esquimalt Framework Agreement and include key metrics as determined by both municipal councils and the Victoria and Esquimalt Police Board.  The reports are comprised of key statistics and a summary of service information and trends for both municipalities for each quarter.

The Q4 report, which covers October-December of 2020, was recently presented to the Victoria and Esquimalt Police Board, Victoria Council, and Esquimalt Council.

A highlight in this report is recently released provincial data on case load, which measures the number of cases being managed by each officer. The new data, which is for 2019, indicates that VicPD’s case load, at 53, is the highest of all municipal police agencies in British Columbia and well above the provincial average of 42. The report also features annual calls for service data for the past five years, in addition to quarterly figures.
