Victoria, BC – VicPD Traffic officers impounded a vehicle yesterday and served the driver with nearly $800 in violation tickets after a report of a Chevrolet Camaro doing donuts on the grass in Irving Park.

Shortly after 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28th, Patrol and VicPD Traffic officers were called to Irving Park in the 200-block of Menzies Street for a report of a Camaro doing donuts on the grass. Officers attended and located the vehicle and driver in the park, next to circular marks on the grass. Officers continued their investigation and learned that the driver had driven the unregistered, uninsured vehicle from Alberta to Victoria with the intent of camping in a park. At the time of the incident, the vehicle was approximately 30 metres from a playground occupied with children.

VicPD Traffic officers impounded the vehicle for seven days for stunting and served the driver with $794 in violation tickets for no insurance and driving without consideration. A photograph of the vehicle being towed from the park is below.
