Victoria, BC – Patrol officers are asking for witnesses and information after a stabbing in downtown Victoria early this morning.

Shortly after 2 a.m. on Thursday, August 5th, Patrol officers were called to a supportive housing facility in the 800-block of Johnson Street for a report of a stabbing. Patrol officers attended immediately and located the victim at the front entrance to the building. Officers provided first aid, including trauma bandages, as the man was suffering from potentially-life-threatening injuries. BC Emergency Health Services paramedics attended and transported the man to hospital. Following medical care, the man’s wounds are considered to be non-life-threatening.

Investigators learned that the stabbing occurred in the 900-block of Pandora Avenue sometime before police were called. Following the stabbing, the victim walked to the 800-block of Johnson Street, at which point the incident was reported to police.

This file remains under investigation. Officers are seeking witnesses and information regarding this incident.
